President Trump vows tougher U.S. response after latest strikes on Iranian targets

San Antonio – President Donald Trump told the nation on Wednesday that the United States is prepared to deliver “much harder” strikes against Iran whenever the administration deems it necessary. The remarks came after U.S. forces hit a series of Iranian military installations, including air‑defense systems, radar sites, maritime assets, mine‑laying capabilities and communications facilities.

Iran’s retaliation and regional impact

In response, Iran launched missiles and drones toward Jordan and Bahrain. Jordan reported detecting 13 ballistic missiles overnight, successfully intercepting ten while three landed in remote areas without causing casualties. Bahrain also confirmed that Iranian drones were intercepted before reaching populated zones.

Iran claimed it targeted several U.S.‑linked military facilities in the region, but those assertions have not been independently verified. U.S. Central Command refuted an Iranian statement that American personnel were killed in an attack on a Jordanian military site.

Strait of Hormuz tensions and economic fallout

The ongoing confrontation has centered on the strategic Strait of Hormuz, where heightened military activity has disrupted commercial shipping lanes and pushed oil prices higher. Brent crude rose to roughly $95 a barrel, while West Texas Intermediate topped $90 per barrel on Wednesday.

Iranian officials also accused the United States of striking a wedding gathering in southern Iran, alleging at least four deaths and dozens of injuries. The U.S. military said it is investigating the claim and emphasized that American forces do not target civilians.

Casualties at sea

Separately, Saudi shipping company Bahri reported that two Filipino sailors were killed when an oil tanker transiting the Strait of Hormuz was attacked.

Trump’s warning and diplomatic outlook

President Trump warned that Iran would face an even stronger response if it continues its retaliatory actions, underscoring the administration’s commitment to protecting U.S. allies and maintaining freedom of navigation in vital waterways. While the president’s firm stance aims to deter further aggression, officials noted that diplomatic channels remain open, though hopes for an immediate resolution appear dim.

As the situation evolves, the Trump administration is monitoring regional developments closely and stands ready to act decisively to safeguard American interests and the safety of allied nations.
