Pam Bondi Faces Thyroid Cancer Diagnosis After Leaving DOJ

Former Attorney General Pam Bondi has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer shortly after her departure from the Department of Justice last month. Bondi, who left her role in early April, has undergone treatment and is currently in recovery, according to a report by Axios.

New Role in AI Policy

Despite her health challenges, Bondi has been appointed by President Donald Trump to serve on the Presidential Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. This council is tasked with advising on artificial intelligence policy, and Bondi will play a key role in coordinating efforts between the federal government and technology executives. The council is co-chaired by White House AI and crypto czar David Sacks and White House science adviser Michael Kratsios.

Katie Miller, a former White House staffer, shared the news on social media, praising Bondi’s resilience and describing her as having “a heart of gold.”

Transition from DOJ

Bondi’s departure from the Justice Department was announced by President Trump, who commended her for her contributions to reducing crime rates across the nation. In a Truth Social post, Trump referred to Bondi as “a Great American Patriot and a loyal friend.” He noted her successful efforts in making America safer and expressed confidence in her future endeavors in the private sector.

Since Bondi’s exit, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche has been serving as the acting attorney general. Bondi expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to serve under President Trump and highlighted her commitment to continuing her work in the private sector, where she plans to support the administration’s goals.
