Philadelphia 76ers Open Off‑Season Store, Fans Queue for LeBron Jerseys

Philadelphia fans showed up early Saturday morning at the Xfinity Mobile Arena for a special off‑season opening of the Philadelphia 76ers team store. The two‑day event gave supporters a rare opportunity to purchase LeBron James jerseys in person before the new NBA season begins.

Lines Formed Early, Families Joined the Excitement

Hundreds of fans formed a line before the doors opened, many hoping to secure a jersey before supplies ran low. Steve Bellis, a resident of Audubon, said he promised his son a LeBron jersey and arrived near the front of the line. “I think they’re going to sell out; they usually do,” Bellis said. “Then you have to wait and wait, and the season starts and you don’t have one.”

Joseph Welcome, who traveled from North Philadelphia, arrived at 6:30 a.m. to be the first customer inside. “I love LeBron. I’m a LeBron fan. I love LeBron, and I love the Sixers too,” he said after purchasing a jersey priced at $139.

Store Stocked with Nike and Fanatics Apparel

Inside, the store displayed blue Nike and Fanatics jerseys. Victoria Isley, vice president of partnership solutions for the 76ers, explained that holding a store opening in the off‑season is unusual but intended to meet fan demand. “This isn’t something we normally do in the off‑season, so it’s going to be a great opportunity,” Isley said. “We know fans have been excited to get merchandise, so we decided to do a special store opening so they can get their LeBron jerseys, they can get their Jaylen Brown jerseys.”

During the first hour of the event, roughly 200 LeBron jerseys were sold. Some buyers were purchasing for family members who could not attend. Mina Fader, a Center City resident, bought a jersey for her son stationed in London, noting that he had tried to locate one worldwide without success.

Community Connections Highlighted

The Zorzi family from Williamstown, New Jersey, also left with jerseys for their children, joking about naming their kids after 76ers stars. “Joelle, after Joel Embiid. And this is Ben after Ben Simmons. That didn’t work out too well,” Lauren Zorzi laughed.

Fans who missed the first day will have another chance on Wednesday, when the store reopens from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
