According to a report presented by Crystella McIvor, chairperson of the Convention and Visitors Bureau Advisory board, visitors spent over $209 million throughout the year, averaging more than half a million dollars per day. This marks a 5.5% increase from 2024, showcasing the growing appeal of Allen as a tourist destination.

The report, presented at the Allen City Council meeting on May 12, highlighted that 2025 was the first year visitor spending surpassed $200 million. Local tax receipts also saw a rise, totaling approximately $8.5 million, a 2.2% increase year over year. This influx of tourism dollars supports local businesses and contributes to the community’s economic vitality.
One of the key initiatives driving this growth is the Show Your Badge program, which encourages conference attendees to patronize local businesses. The program has expanded to include 52 businesses in Allen, further integrating tourism with the local economy.
Events and Attractions
From April 2025 to April 2026, the Allen Convention and Visitors Bureau supported or incentivized 20 events, ranging from the World Junior Hockey Championships to the Universal Miss National Pageant. These events not only attract visitors but also showcase Allen’s capacity to host diverse and large-scale gatherings.
Other notable events included the National Theatre on Ice, Texas Bar Exams, and the ECHL All-Star Game, among others. These events draw participants and spectators from across the country, contributing to the local economy through lodging, dining, and retail spending.
