Construction Begins on QuikTrip’s First Store in Western Arkansas

In a significant development for the local economy, construction has commenced on the first QuikTrip convenience store in western Arkansas, situated in the city of Alma. This new establishment marks an expansion of the popular chain into the region, promising to bring both convenience and job opportunities to the area.

Location and Development

The construction site is strategically located between U.S. 64, West Fork Street, and Cherry Street in Alma. The area, previously home to a Harp’s Grocery store, a towing company, and a massage parlor, has been cleared to make way for the new QuikTrip store. Crawford County property records indicate that QuikTrip Corp. acquired four adjoining parcels of land in June 2024 for approximately $1.45 million.

A large “coming soon” banner, featuring an image of a QuikTrip store, has been prominently displayed on a chain-link fence surrounding the construction site, signaling the company’s commitment to the project. Heavy machinery and dump trucks were observed at the location as of May 26, indicating active development.

Community Impact

The introduction of QuikTrip to Alma is expected to have a positive impact on the local community. Not only will it provide residents with a new option for fuel and convenience items, but it will also create employment opportunities, contributing to the local economy. The presence of a well-known brand like QuikTrip can also attract additional businesses and visitors to the area, further boosting economic activity.

As of now, QuikTrip has not announced an official opening date for the store. Efforts to reach the company’s media relations team for further details were unsuccessful at the time of publication.

Looking Ahead

The arrival of QuikTrip in western Arkansas is a noteworthy development for the region. As construction progresses, residents and local businesses alike will be watching closely to see how this new addition will shape the community’s landscape. The store’s opening will likely be a welcome event, offering both convenience and economic benefits to Alma and its surrounding areas.
