Paragould Traffic Stop Results in Drug Arrest

In Paragould, Arkansas, a routine traffic stop on May 24 resulted in the arrest of 37-year-old Zackery Jetton. Paragould police officers stopped Jetton for driving on a suspended license. During the stop, officers observed a small clear bag containing a crystal-like substance in plain view on the driver’s seat, which was consistent with methamphetamine.

Following this discovery, police conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle. The search revealed less than 2 grams of suspected methamphetamine, five pills suspected to be Valium, eight pre-rolled marijuana cigarillos, and a glass pipe commonly used for ingesting methamphetamine.

Jetton was taken to the police department for questioning. During the interview, after being read his Miranda rights, Jetton admitted ownership of the drugs and paraphernalia. He confirmed that the substances were methamphetamine, marijuana, and Valium.

Jetton faces multiple charges, including possession of methamphetamine, heroin, or cocaine with the intent to deliver, a Class C felony; possession of a Schedule IV or V controlled substance with intent to deliver, a Class D felony; possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance with intent to deliver, a Class D felony; possession of drug paraphernalia; and operating a vehicle with a suspended or revoked license or registration. His bond was set at $15,000 cash or surety.

As always, it is important to remember that all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
