Local racers Elmer and Harmon win season‑opening features at Sheridan Speedway

Sunday marked a strong start to the Sheridan Speedway season championships for several Sheridan County competitors. In the Wissota Midwest Modified feature, Justin Elmer crossed the finish line first, while Kholin Harmon secured the win in the Wissota Street Stock race.

Top finishers and local representation

Elmer’s victory in the Midwest Modified class added to a solid performance by Sheridan drivers, who also placed fourth, eighth and ninth. Griffen Switzenberg finished fourth, Chad Switzenberg took eighth, and Justin Will rounded out the top ten in ninth place. Chad Switzenberg started the race from 13th position, demonstrating a notable climb through the field.

In the IMCA Modified feature, fellow Sheridan racer Bernard Fischer earned a third‑place finish, followed by Donnie Goodman in fifth. Chad Kordus of Ranchester was listed as a non‑starter for that event.

Street Stock and other classes

Chris Uroszek of Sheridan posted a strong second‑place finish in the Street Stock feature, trailing only Kholin Harmon. Steve Snyder of Story finished fourth, and Braxton Harmon rounded out the top five.

Trevor Clark, another Sheridan driver, secured second place in the Rocky Mountain Hardtops feature. He was followed by Butch Kennedy of Banner in fifth and Charlie Floates of Sheridan in sixth. Cole Kennedy of Banner was entered but did not finish the race.

Additional results

Dean McCalla of Sheridan placed seventh in the Wissota Mod Four feature. Outside of Sheridan, the remaining feature winners included Kyle Anton of Gillette in IMCA Modified, Tyler Sikkenga of Gillette in Wissota Mod Four, Matt Brown of Casper in Rocky Mountain Hardtops, and Robert Donmyer of Gillette in IMCA Sport Compact.

The full set of results can be accessed via the link provided by Sheridan Media, and the season championship winners will be posted later as the series progresses.

Community impact

These early results underscore the depth of racing talent in Sheridan County and the enthusiasm of local fans who regularly attend the Speedway. The strong showings by home‑grown drivers reinforce the community’s long‑standing tradition of motorsport participation and provide a promising outlook for the remainder of the championship season.
