Cox Oklahoma customers to see Spectrum branding starting mid‑September

Charter Communications announced that its acquisition of Cox Communications is now complete, and the Cox brand in Oklahoma will begin transitioning to Spectrum in mid‑September. The change will be visible on customer bills, service trucks, office buildings and signage throughout the state.

What stays the same for customers

Current Cox subscribers can keep the same service plans and pricing they have today if they choose. “Customers can keep their current Cox plan and pricing if they want to,” said Charter CEO Chris Winfrey. The company also said that the transition will not affect the quality of internet, television or phone service.

Options to switch to Spectrum plans

Along with the new branding, Charter will send information to customers about optional Spectrum plans. Those plans may offer lower monthly rates and additional benefits, though switching is entirely voluntary.

No layoffs announced

Charter emphasized that the rebranding effort does not include any workforce reductions. “There are no plans for layoffs as part of the transition,” a spokesperson for Spectrum confirmed.

Impact on the Oklahoma market

The merger adds to the consolidation trend in the telecommunications industry, bringing together two of the nation’s largest cable operators. For Oklahoma residents, the change means a single, unified brand for the services they already use, while preserving the existing contract terms.

Customers who notice the Spectrum name on their next bill or see a Spectrum‑branded truck in their neighborhood can be assured that their service will continue uninterrupted. Those interested in exploring new plan options should watch for the upcoming informational mailer scheduled for mid‑September.
