Multiple Vehicles Burglarized at Adara Alexander Place Apartments in Raleigh

Early Thursday morning, residents of the Adara Alexander Place Apartments in northwest Raleigh awoke to a scene of broken glass and damaged vehicles. Management confirmed that over 20 cars and trucks had been forced open, with windows smashed and doors compromised.

Details of the Break‑Ins

The apartment complex is located near Raleigh‑Durham International Airport, a busy area that sees both commuter traffic and local residents. According to an email sent by the property’s management team, more than two dozen vehicles were targeted. Several tenants reported hearing the sound of shattering glass before discovering the damage.

One neighbor captured video from inside their vehicle that appears to show a suspect in dark clothing leaning out of a broken passenger window of a silver SUV before exiting the vehicle. The footage is low‑resolution, but the movement suggests an attempt to gain entry to the vehicle’s interior.

Police Response

Raleigh police arrived on the scene shortly after the reports were filed and began interviewing residents. Officers are reviewing the video evidence and canvassing the area for additional witnesses or surveillance footage that might help identify the perpetrator(s). No arrests have been made at this time.

Detectives have not released a description of any suspect, but they are urging anyone with further information to contact the Raleigh Police Department’s Crime Stoppers line. Residents are also being asked to check their vehicles for any additional damage and to report any suspicious activity.

Impact on Residents

Many tenants expressed frustration and concern for personal safety, especially given the proximity of the complex to a major airport and the high volume of foot traffic in the area. Some residents are considering additional security measures, such as installing dash cams or motion‑activated lights, while others are awaiting guidance from the property management on possible improvements to lighting and surveillance.

The apartment management has pledged to cooperate fully with law enforcement and to keep tenants informed as the investigation progresses. They have also indicated that they will review security protocols and explore options for enhanced monitoring of the parking lot.

What Residents Can Do

Police advise vehicle owners to lock doors, keep windows up, and remove valuables from sight. If a vehicle is damaged, owners should document the damage with photos, file a police report, and contact their insurance provider promptly.

Community members are encouraged to stay vigilant, report any unusual activity, and support one another during the investigation. The Raleigh Police Department will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
