A 16-year-old from Key Largo was arrested after brandishing a pellet gun during a road rage encounter in Marathon, authorities said. The teenager faces a charge of improper exhibition of a weapon following the Aug. 14 incident.
According to law enforcement, two victims reported they were traveling in a vehicle around 11:19 a.m. when they saw the suspect driving recklessly. Both victims stated that the driver displayed what appeared to be a firearm.
Deputies with the Sheriff’s Office located and stopped the suspect’s vehicle shortly after the report. A search of the car revealed a pellet gun hidden under the passenger seat.
Authorities confirmed that injuries were reported in connection with the incident. The suspect was taken into custody and booked into jail.
