Alleged Embezzler Faces 13 Counts of Felony Theft

A pretrial conference was held Thursday in Fourth Judicial District Court for a woman who is charged with 13 counts of felony theft for allegedly embezzling from a Sheridan-based nonprofit foundation. The foundation, B.F. and Rose H. Perkins Foundation, awards interest-free loans to college students and medical grants to children and young adults.

Case Details

According to court documents, the alleged embezzler, Bobby Joe Neeson, allegedly embezzled $631,535 between 2013 and May of 2025 by placing an additional loan onto a current loan recipient’s account as if they had requested and received the funds and then deposited the student loan into one of her personal bank accounts with the recipient being unaware that the loan had been placed on their account. Neeson pleaded not guilty to the charges at an arraignment hearing in April.
