WESH 2 News visited a TV production class at Hillcrest Elementary to share insights and teach students about the morning news team. The students worked with the news team on scripts and explored technical aspects of production.
Learning Valuable Skills
Media specialist Sarah Pace said that the program goes beyond TV training, teaching students valuable skills such as teamwork, time management, and organization. These skills will help them in high school, college, and their future careers.
WESH 2 Meteorologist Eric Burris told the kids, “When you’re on the air, you have to be bright and cheery like you’ve been up for six hours when you’re barely awake.” The students showed their professionalism, handling everything from writing scripts to directing and hosting their show.
