Caddo Parish Commissioner Chris Kracman is growing increasingly concerned about the tension between parish residents and contractors at the Stateline Road Data Center construction site. The construction, which is expected to span over five years, has been causing disruptions to the daily lives of residents, with crews starting work as early as 4 a.m.
Residents’ Concerns
Residents near the site are upset with the early start times, with some reporting excessive construction noise, damage to road easements, and disruption to their access to their property. Commissioner Kracman has spoken to the contractors about starting at a more reasonable hour, around 7 a.m.
Kracman has submitted a request to the commission administration for construction schedules, permits authorizing after-hours work, and noise mitigation plans, but has not received the requested documents. The situation has become so tense that law enforcement has been called to the scene, with contractors and residents calling the police on each other.
