Brentwood Social House, a beloved community gathering spot in Austin, is seeking new ownership or a fresh concept to revitalize its operations. Owner Daniels announced on May 21 that after years of adapting to financial pressures, she is looking for someone to purchase the business, create a new concept within the space, sublease the property, or take over the lease.
Adapting to Change
Daniels expressed that sometimes the greatest kindness is recognizing when a chapter has run its course, making space for new opportunities. Despite the search for new ownership, she assured customers that the business remains open and all bookings will be honored. However, patrons should anticipate potential changes, including reduced staffing and adjustments to the menu and hours of operation.
A Place of Community
Since its opening in 2015, Brentwood Social House has been more than just a coffee shop. It has hosted afternoon tea parties, events, and offered a variety of food and drinks, including spinach feta quiche and vegan curry pie. The establishment also features a free community fridge in partnership with the ATX Free Fridge Project, supporting neighbors with snacks, produce, and household necessities.
Daniels hopes the space will inspire someone to shape its future meaningfully. Interested parties can contact Laura Fairbanks of KW Commercial for subleasing inquiries or reach out to Daniels directly for purchasing discussions.
Looking Ahead
Located at 1601 W. Koenig Lane, Brentwood Social House has been a hub for connection and creativity in Austin. As it seeks a new chapter, the community remains hopeful for its continued role as a place of comfort and conversation.
