A 37-year-old Lake County man has claimed a $1 million top prize from the Florida Lottery’s ‘GIANT BUCKS’ scratch-off game. James Bostick, of Lady Lake, visited the Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee on August 4 to collect his prize. Officials announced that Bostick chose to take his winnings as a single, lump-sum payment of $606,600.00.

The winning ticket was purchased at the BJ’s Wholesale Club located at 13585 N.E. 86th Path in Lady Lake. According to figures released by state officials, scratch-off games accounted for roughly 74 percent of total ticket sales for the Florida Lottery during the 2024-2025 fiscal year.
Since the lottery’s inception, scratch-off tickets have paid out over $72.2 billion in total prizes, produced 2,510 millionaires, and contributed more than $21.28 billion to Florida’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund.
