A man was flown to a local trauma center with life-threatening injuries following a shooting on East Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Tarpon Springs, according to local police.
Investigation Underway
Officers with the Tarpon Springs Police Department arrived at the scene, where they located the victim, identified as Byronell Arline. Emergency personnel from Tarpon Springs Fire Rescue evaluated and treated Arline before he was transported by helicopter for trauma care.
Police said the other person involved in the shooting stayed on scene and is currently cooperating with investigators. No charges have been filed as detectives continue to work alongside the State’s Attorney’s Office.
Investigators emphasized that the incident was isolated and involved two people who knew each other, adding that there is no active threat to the public.
