The New Mexico Judiciary has launched the New Mexico Courts HelpLine, a critical new resource aimed at assisting individuals in navigating the state court system. This HelpLine connects callers directly with trained court experts who provide direction to those representing themselves in court and individuals with questions about a legal matter.
Access to Justice
The HelpLine expands access to justice by providing accurate, reliable guidance on court case procedures. The court experts guide callers to the correct state court forms, explain specific rules for filing or responding to lawsuits, and point them to legal aid services across the state.
Access to justice also means meeting New Mexicans where they are. The HelpLine is entirely free and open to all residents, with staff fully bilingual in Spanish and interpreters available for Diné and other languages. The experts are available six days a week, from Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
If a situation ultimately requires formal legal representation, the experts will also help connect callers with low- and no-cost legal aid organizations or upcoming free legal fairs. The New Mexico Courts HelpLine can be reached at (855) 268-7804.
