A tornado reaching speeds up to 90 miles per hour touched down in Clermont County during Tuesday’s storms, the National Weather Service confirmed. The tornado was spotted in Clermont County around 3 p.m. on Tuesday and later confirmed in Pierce Township by the agency around 8:30 p.m.
Tornado Path and Damage
The first evidence of tornadic damage was observed at the Pierce Reserve & Trails on Pond Run Road, where numerous large tree limbs were knocked down. As the tornado strengthened, it traveled southeast onto Mott Road, where roof damage was observed at a two-story home along with numerous trees being snapped in an adjacent wooded area.
According to the National Weather Service, the tornado reached speeds near 90 mph, which corresponds to EF1 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale. The tornado’s path continued southeast, causing sporadic damage, including additional tree damage at a residence on OH-132 and Wildfire Way.
