Kristin Chenoweth Hosts Kristi Awards in Broken Arrow
BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — Emmy and Tony Award-winning actress Kristin Chenoweth is returning to her hometown to host the Kristi Awards at the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center on July 25.
The annual awards ceremony serves as the finale of Chenoweth’s Broadway Bootcamp, a performing arts program that brings talented young performers to Broken Arrow for intensive training in singing, acting and dance.
Broadway Bootcamp Celebrates 10 Years
This year marks the 10th anniversary of Kristin Chenoweth’s Broadway Bootcamp. During the program, students work with Broadway professionals, develop their stage skills and prepare performances for the final awards celebration.
The Kristi Awards recognize campers for their growth, talent and accomplishments throughout the week. The event also gives students an opportunity to perform in front of family members, community supporters and theater professionals.
Chenoweth Returns to Her Hometown
Chenoweth grew up in Broken Arrow and graduated from Broken Arrow High School before building a successful career on Broadway, television and film.
Despite her national success, she has remained closely connected to her hometown. Through her foundation and Broadway Bootcamp, Chenoweth continues to support arts education and create opportunities for aspiring performers.
The main theater at the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center is named in her honor, reflecting her accomplishments and her continued commitment to the local community.
Celebrating the Next Generation
The Kristi Awards have become a summer tradition in Broken Arrow, bringing together students, families and supporters of the performing arts.
