A 3-year-old Oklahoma girl, Sophia Hernandez, battling stage 4 neuroblastoma, received an outpouring of support from her community. Thousands of Oklahomans attended a tattoo fundraiser at Krybaby’s Tattoo Studios, raising $32,000 for her cancer treatment.
Community Comes Together
The event, which drew over 5,000 people, included a $22,000 fundraiser, a $10,000 donation from Front Porch Homes, and additional contributions through a GoFundMe campaign. Sophia’s father, Rodrigo Hernandez, expressed his gratitude, saying the support means he can focus on his daughter’s treatment without worrying about other responsibilities.
Sophia, who recently shaved her head due to her treatments, attended the event to meet her supporters. The funds raised will allow Rodrigo to spend uninterrupted time with his daughter, focusing on her recovery and making the most of their time together.
Aiding the Family
The overwhelming support has inspired Sarah Lewis, owner of Krybaby’s Tattoo Studios, to continue helping the family. She stated that if needed, they would host another fundraiser to support Sophia until she completes her treatment.
