Nearly 736,000 Pillsbury bread rolls have been recalled because they may contain glass, according to a notice from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The recall was initiated on June 19 and is a Class II recall, which the FDA defines as a situation in which use of or exposure to a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.
Affected Products
The frozen bread rolls were distributed to Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Missouri, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Wyoming. The General Mills website lists the same types of dough for businesses rather than individual consumers. Bakeries, delis, restaurants and other food service operators should not use this dough and contact their supplier or General Mills for returns and refunds.
The cases of recalled hard roll dough have a ‘better-if-used-by’ date of Oct. 12, while the recalled kaiser roll dough’s ‘better-if-used-by’ date is Oct. 13. Consumers can check the details listed in the recall notice, such as the UPC, product size, or expiration date, to determine if their product is part of the recall. If it is, they should not eat it and throw it away.
