Adel’s iconic lighted bridge, a central Iowa trail landmark, will reopen next month after being damaged by fire last year. The bridge was set on fire in the middle of the night, leaving the community without one of its most recognizable trail features.
To celebrate the reopening, a community bike ride is planned for August 21 at 5 p.m., starting at the Waukee Trailhead. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will follow at 6 p.m.
