A Falcon 9 launch of the Space Development Agency’s third Tranche 1 transport mission is scheduled from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California on Thursday afternoon. The mission’s 22-minute launch window opens on Thursday, July 16, at 1:30 p.m. and a backup launch window has been designated for the following day, Friday, July 17, beginning at 1:24 p.m.
Launch Details
A live webcast of the launch will begin about ten minutes before liftoff. Following first-stage separation, the booster assigned to this mission will return to Earth to land on the Of Course I Still Love You drone ship awaiting in the Pacific Ocean.
The payload on this mission includes space vehicles that will transport satellites destined for a low-Earth orbit as part of the layered network of satellites known as the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture which provides global tactical military communications and missile detection and tracking capabilities on behalf of the Department of Defense’s Space Development Agency.
