CritterFest 2026, Lubbock’s biggest annual animal event, is set to take over the Science Spectrum from July 16 through July 19. The four-day event runs daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and brings together exotic animals, live entertainment, and interactive experiences for visitors of all ages.

CritterFest transforms the Science Spectrum into a wildlife adventure featuring elephants, alligators, crocodiles, camels, tortoises, giant snakes, sheep, goats, pigs, rabbits, and many more fascinating animals. Guests can also enjoy the popular petting zoo, pony rides, camel rides, and live reptile presentations throughout the event.
Live animal shows are a major part of the event, with JUMP! The Ultimate Dog Show and Crocodile Encounters being the main attractions. JUMP! showcases incredible canine athletes performing exciting tricks and stunts in a high-energy show. Crocodile Encounters introduces audiences to American alligators, Nile crocodiles, and other reptiles while teaching the importance of wildlife conservation.
JUMP! The Ultimate Dog Show takes place daily at 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., and 5:00 p.m. Crocodile Encounters is scheduled at 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, with an additional 2:30 p.m. show on Saturday.
Ticket Prices and Admission
General admission is $16 for adults, $13 for children ages 3 through 12, and $13 for seniors ages 60 and older. Museum members receive discounted show tickets for $6 per adult and $5 per child. Children ages 2 and younger are admitted free. Additional fees apply for animal feedings, rides, and photos.
Admission also includes access to the Science Spectrum Museum, home to Lubbock’s only public aquarium exhibit, Texas Alive: The Brazos River Journey.
