Athletes at Dallas Center-Grimes could soon compete in a new conference. The school district is considering joining the Central Iowa Metro League, which would begin with the 2028-29 school year.
District leaders say the recommendation follows months of planning and feedback from coaches, students, parents, and staff. The school board will make the final decision at an upcoming meeting.
The CIML currently contains nine schools: Ankeny, Ankeny Centennial, Dowling Catholic, Johnston, Southeast Polk, Urbandale, West Des Moines Valley, Waukee, and Waukee Northwest.
