Through a partnership between United Way of Northeast Florida and Duval County Public Schools, the local Miller Electric and national Milwaukee Tool companies are investing $50,000 to reestablish an electrical training program at Westside High School.
Program Details
High school seniors who complete the one-year program will be invited to advance into year two of the four-year Electrical Training Alliance Apprenticeship, where they will earn while they learn and achieve pay increases each year in the program. More than half of the participants in similar programs in Baker, Nassau, and Clay counties have remained in the electrical field after the apprenticeship.
