A Montgomery man is in custody after attempting to elude law enforcement officers. Officials with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency say that on Friday, officers assigned to the Metro Area Crime Suppression Unit attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Castle Ridge Road in Montgomery.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as 21-year-old Kani Coleman, refused to stop and a chase started. Coleman eventually stopped in the 5000 block of Woodmere Boulevard, got out of the vehicle, and fled on foot while armed with a gun. He was eventually arrested and transported to Baptist Medical Center South for a medical evaluation.
After being released from the hospital, Coleman was transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility and charged with Attempting to Elude.
