The Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) has announced emergency repairs on both directions of US 69 in Hunt County, starting Monday at 8:30 a.m. The repair is from FM 903 to US 69D. People will be on hand to direct traffic during the repair and message boards will be posted.
TXDOT urges drivers to avoid the area for the time being; it’s unclear how long the repairs will take. Drivers sent pictures and video of asphalt that was lifted from the highway and stuck to their tires. A Hunt County Commissioner reached out to TXDOT after fielding complaints. TXDOT and drivers blamed the heat.
