Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Jamie Davis stopped in Shreveport Saturday for his ‘No More Silence Tour,’ meeting supporters at the Shreve Memorial Library as part of a campaign tour across Louisiana.
Davis Discusses Campaign and Plans
Supporters gathered to hear Davis discuss his campaign and plans for the race. State Sen. Sam Jenkins was among those supporting the nominee. ‘I think Jamie Davis is a quality candidate. I think he has the background and credentials to go to D.C. and represent everybody in this state. He knows how to get along with people on both sides of the aisle,’ said Jenkins.
Davis spoke about his recent runoff victory, saying he was encouraged by the support he received from supporters. ‘I believe the people of Louisiana, Democrats and Independents alike, united behind a single candidate. I am proud to serve the people,’ said Davis.
Following the stop in Shreveport, Davis stopped by KTBS 3’s studio to speak with Political Anchor Jeff Beimfohr on The APP: ArkLaTex People and Politics. Davis said he believes he can work across party lines if elected to the U.S. Senate. ‘I believe I can be a bridge. We can start having conversations like old-school politics, where we agree to disagree and still get things done,’ said Davis.
