A new park in Alamo Heights has been dedicated to the memory of Kellyanne Lytal, an 8-year-old girl who tragically died in the Hill Country floods last year. The park, named Kellyanne Park, was officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by the Alamo Heights community.
A Tribute to Kellyanne
Kellyanne’s family was in attendance, and her mother, Malorie Lytal, expressed the emotions of the family, saying it’s a parent’s worst nightmare. The park is a tribute not only to Kellyanne but also to Sarah Marsh and Lila Bonner, whose grandparents are part of the Alamo Heights community.
The Lytal family said the park reflects who Kellyanne was and what they hope it will bring to others. Kellyanne’s mother described her as the kindest soul in the world, and the park is expected to bring kids together, promoting kindness and community.
The park’s location is especially meaningful for the family, as it is within walking distance of their home and sits next to the Alamo Heights pool, a place Kellyanne loved. In fact, going to the pool was one of Kellyanne’s last requests before leaving for camp.
