The city of Fort Worth is moving forward with a drainage construction project on Rogers Avenue near Texas Christian University (TCU). The project aims to construct and extend new curbs and gutters on the east side of Rogers Avenue to reduce erosion and carry stormwater away into the existing drain systems on University Drive.
According to city project manager Ahana Basnet, the work will take approximately three weeks and begin at the end of July, pending the completion of a gas line relocation by Atmos Energy Co. The construction will be done on weekdays only, starting first on University Drive to minimize residential traffic disruptions.
The project, which will cost $700,000, is funded by Fort Worth’s ‘PayGo’ program, using cash from the city’s property tax revenue. Basnet assured residents that the construction work will be done in a way that respects their daily routines and minimizes inconvenience.
