U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham believes China has the influence to help end the war in Ukraine by pressuring Russia. Graham, who met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, thinks that bolstering Ukraine’s military capabilities and aligning sanctions with a diplomatic push could force Moscow into talks.
China’s Role in Ending the War
Graham stated that China has an oversized influence and should use it for the good of the world. He emphasized that the road to ending the war passes through Beijing more than it does through Washington, Kyiv, or Moscow.
The U.S. and Ukraine have been working together to find a diplomatic solution to the war, but so far, no tangible results have been achieved. Fighting continues along the front line, with Russia launching missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian cities.
Zelenskiy and Graham discussed Ukraine’s urgent air defense needs and the Russian sanctions bill. Graham also mentioned that the next several months present a window for a diplomatic solution.
