A routine inspection on the Carroll Cropper Bridge connecting Kentucky and Indiana will force single lane closures, starting on Monday. The inspection of the Interstate 275 bridge in Boone County will require single lane closures from July 13 through July 24.
Officials said drivers should expect the closures at various times, but plans have been put in place to mitigate traffic delays during peak travel times. Eastbound I-275 won’t see any closures Monday through Thursday, from 3-6 p.m., and Friday from 2-7 p.m.
The westbound side of I-275 won’t see closures on Monday through Friday from 6-8 a.m., as well as 3-7 p.m. on Friday. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said the inspection is a “Non-Redundant Steel Tension Member,” inspection, which takes a look at critical pieces of the bridge’s infrastructure.
