The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards announced its nominees on Wednesday, with The Pitt leading all nominees with 25 nominations and Hacks breaking the record for most nominations for a comedy series with 24.
Top Nominees
The nominees included the late Rob Reiner for his guest acting on The Bear, Bad Bunny for his Super Bowl halftime show, and newlywed Taylor Swift for The Eras Tour – The Final Show concert special.
Other top nominees included Apple TV’s Pluribus and Widow’s Bay, which scored big in their first seasons. The Pitt, a day-in-the-life emergency room series, was a rookie upstart last year with big wins including best drama series, best actor for Noah Wyle, and best supporting actress for Katherine LaNasa.
Notable Nominees
Rob Reiner, who was killed along with his wife Michele Singer Reiner in December, has a chance at his third Emmy. Five-time Emmy winner Michael J. Fox also got a nomination in the same category for playing a patient with Parkinson’s disease on Shrinking.
Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert special got five nominations, including one for the singing superstar herself as producer. The Super Bowl halftime show, featuring Bad Bunny, got nine nominations.
