The National Dairy Farmers Assuring Responsible Management (FARM) Program has begun its open comment period for the proposed Version 2028 updates to its Animal Care and Workforce Development programs. The comment period, which runs until October 2, allows dairy industry stakeholders to provide feedback on the proposed revisions.
Proposed Updates
The proposed updates include changes to the evaluation process for injured tails and Fitness to Transport guidelines, as well as revisions to calf nutrition, animal observations, documentation requirements, and continuing education standards. The FARM Workforce Development Task Force and Farmer Advisory Council are also seeking feedback on proposed changes to the Workforce Development evaluation tool.
The National Milk Producers Federation Board of Directors will review the feedback and provide final approval on any recommendations. The updated FARM Version 2028 will take effect on January 1, 2028.
