The City of Casper’s plans for a new Metro Animal Shelter facility took a step forward with the City Council approving a $15,000 agreement with Sampson Construction Company for pre-construction management services.
Project Background
The current Metro Animal Shelter was built over 40 years ago and has outgrown its facility. Shelter manager Jodi Decker previously stated that the shelter was designed to hold roughly 30 dogs but often holds 50 or more.
Sampson Construction will be responsible for managing budget and cost alignment, bid package preparation, subcontractor procurement, project scheduling, and more. The city selected Sampson Construction after seeking proposals from general contractors experienced with the construction manager at risk delivery method, followed by a review and interview process.
