Sheridan County has implemented partial fire restrictions due to dry conditions. County Fire Warden Chris Thomas recommended the restrictions at the county commission’s regular meeting on Tuesday.

Thomas stated that the conditions have changed significantly over the past week, with high temperatures and winds contributing to the dryness. He noted that rural firefighters have been busy over the holiday weekend and support the implementation of partial fire restrictions.

The restrictions are the same as those implemented in the spring and will become effective the next morning to allow residents to prepare.
