A recent attempted break-in at a Woodland Hills home was foiled when the residence’s security alarm remained active, despite the thieves deactivating the home security cameras.
Incident Details
The LAPD responded to the incident at about 4 a.m. in the 5600 Block of Collins Avenue in the west San Fernando Valley community after receiving a notification from the security alarm company. According to the LAPD, the alarm company saw three masked men cut wires to multiple cameras at the house.
The men attempted to force a door open, setting off the alarm, but never entered the residence. They fled the scene in a getaway car, and no arrests were reported. Nobody was home at the time of the incident.
Police took a felony vandalism report due to damage to the security cameras.
