A body was discovered in a wooded area in Hope, Arkansas, on Saturday at approximately 8 p.m. while a property was being cleaned.
Due to the decomposition of the body, authorities could not immediately determine the individual’s race or sex. The Hempstead County Coroner estimated the person had been dead for about one week.
The body was taken to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory, where investigators will work to determine the identity, cause, and manner of death. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Hope Police Department at 870-777-3434 or reach out to their local law enforcement agency.
