Charlie Kirk’s family came face to face with his accused assassin, Tyler Robinson, in a Utah courtroom on Monday. The preliminary hearing is expected to last a week.
Preliminary Hearing Details
The hearing began with Officer Christopher Bagley testifying about the events surrounding Kirk’s death. Bagley stated that he believed he heard a rifle shot coming from the direction of the Losee Center.
Utah State Bureau of Investigation Agent David Hull also testified, introducing several videos, including images of Kirk’s death. The videos were not shown publicly in court but were shown to the judge and attorneys for both sides.
Robinson’s defense objected to the introduction of some surveillance video, which was sustained by the judge due to authentication concerns. The video is expected to be introduced later in the hearing.
Kirk’s family, including his parents and widow, attended the hearing, along with some high-profile supporters, including Donald Trump Jr. and conservative commentators Jack Posobiec and Brandon Tatum.
