Vendors at French Quarter Antiques in Oklahoma City are racing against time to sell or pack up their items before the store closes its doors for good on Sept. 1.
Armando Godinez, a master jeweler and vendor at the store, said he received a letter last week informing him that the landlords need the space as soon as possible and that vendors must leave by Aug. 31.
Godinez has been a vendor at French Quarter Antiques for around three years and reflected on how the store remained a constant through challenges like construction on Britton Road, the COVID-19 pandemic, and inflation.
The store’s owners ended their letter by expressing their love for the shop, saying it feels like losing their best friend.
