Investigation Details
According to Warren County Prosecutor David Fornshell, some of Warren’s belongings, including his car, a 1985 Oldsmobile, were taken. The car was later located in Readington Beach, Florida, and some of his belongings were recovered near a Cracker Barrel in the Dalton, Georgia area.
The case remained cold for decades until detectives with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office re-investigated it in 2019, submitting the recovered belongings to the crime lab for analysis. This analysis identified McAllister and an accomplice, who has since died, as potential suspects.
After continued investigation, the case was presented to the grand jury, which returned an indictment for McAllister on charges of aggravated murder and murder.
