The Great American State Fair is currently taking place on the National Mall, with all 50 U.S. states participating to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana have set up booths to represent their states, each with its own unique attractions and displays.
Ohio’s Booth
Ohio’s booth focuses on the next generation, with a banner that reads ‘Children are Ohio’s Future.’ The booth features attractions such as Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, as well as a map of Ohio with photos of well-known landmarks like the Cincinnati Zoo and Ohio State University.
Kentucky’s Booth
Kentucky’s booth showcases the state’s long history as a global bourbon exporter, with numerous barrel lids from various bourbon distilleries on display. The booth also highlights Kentucky’s history as the birthplace of Abraham Lincoln and its geographic location in the Appalachian Mountains.
Indiana’s Booth
Indiana’s booth features mini golf courses with obstacles such as wooden models of Indianapolis 500 race cars, red barns, and tractors. The booth also displays pictures of landmarks from throughout the state, including the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Lake Michigan beaches.
Several prominent politicians have visited the fair, including Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, Indiana Gov. Mike Braun, and Indiana Sen. Todd Young, who have documented their visits on social media.
