Reece Killebrew, who owns Republiq with his wife Noelle, said the contest was a rare chance for health-conscious members to indulge in hot dogs. Killebrew, who won the contest, said he loves hot dogs and enjoys competing with his friends.
The event was the first hot dog contest at Republiq, and Killebrew hopes to make it an annual tradition. He plans to make the next event bigger, with more hot dogs and possibly more participants.
