The Lakeshore Chinooks defeated the Green Bay Rockers in both games of a doubleheader. The Chinooks won the first game 6-5 and the second game 9-3.
Game One
The Rockers started game one down 1-0 after a suspended game from June 9. However, they found an offensive rhythm early, jumping out to a 4-1 lead thanks to the production from Sefan Di Corrado and Eli Selga.
Aukai Kea, the Lakeshore catcher, cut the lead to one with an opposite field two-RBI double in the fourth inning. The Chinooks tied the game in the fifth and plated two more to take a 6-4 lead in the sixth.
Game Two
The Chinooks jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first frame of the second game. The Rockers cut the lead in half on a Di Corrado sacrifice fly, but the Chinooks offense came alive again in the fourth, producing four runs.
The Rockers had some traffic on the bases in the top of the fifth and scored twice, but a baserunning mistake resulted in a double play. The Chinooks then plated two more in the fifth and one in the sixth to win 9-3.
The Rockers return home on Saturday, July 4 to take on the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders.
