The Hunt Store, a central piece of the community, is being restored after the devastating flood last year. Owners John and Vikki Dunn have a three-phase plan to bring back the iconic store.
Phase One: Mini Hunt Store
The first phase involves a smaller building to the side of the Hunt Store, called the Mini Hunt Store. This building will provide food and beverage services to the community.
The back of the Mini Store will be a pavilion and a stage, which will host music events to bring the community together.
Phase Two: Restoring the Old Hunt Store
The second phase involves restoring the old Hunt Store, including famous pieces that survived the flood, such as the iconic fireplace.
The fireplace was one of the few structures in the massive building that survived the floodwaters.
Phase Three: Full Rebuild
The third phase will be the full rebuild, which will include a fuel system, convenience store, restaurant, and café. This phase is expected to be completed in the 2026-2027 timeframe.
