Perry, Iowa’s 112-year-old town clock has been restored and returned to downtown after undergoing its first major refurbishment in nearly 30 years.
History of the Clock
The clock was first installed in 1913 but was removed after a fire in 1945. A $5,000 KCCI Project Main Street grant helped bring it back to downtown in 1999. A dedication ceremony was held Thursday, celebrating the bells chiming at 7 p.m.
