Cole Hauser’s connection to Montana runs deeper than the ‘Yellowstone’ franchise. However, with the new series ‘Dutton Ranch’ shifting to Texas, the state is expecting a tourism boost. Hauser told Fox News Digital that his family’s ties to Montana stretch back nearly 140 years, but the new series brings a different experience.
Tourism Expectations
Travel advisers say the show’s tourism boom may be expanding to Texas. Adam Duckworth, president and founder of Travelmation, said that ‘Yellowstone’ was one of the first shows to spark the trend of ‘set-jetting,’ where fans visit the sets of their favorite shows. With ‘Dutton Ranch’ filming in Texas, Duckworth expects the state to see an increase in tourism.
Duckworth pointed to Ferris, Texas, as a popular shooting spot for ‘Dutton Ranch.’ The town is about 20 miles outside Dallas and is known for its growth in popularity. Another destination likely to draw fans is Saunders Ranch in Weatherford, Texas, which is a real-life working ranch with a history dating back to the 1800s.
Luxury Experiences
Travelers are seeking luxury experiences that mirror the lifestyle portrayed in the show. Kris Porter, a travel adviser, said that clients are looking for elevated, bucket-list ranch experiences that include Michelin-quality food and the opportunity to learn how to ride horses and herd cattle. The shift toward Texas is already becoming noticeable, with clients moving south for the warmer weather and luxurious stays.
