Jeffersonville residents will gather to celebrate America’s 250th birthday with a parade on Saturday morning. The parade starts at 10 a.m. and will go through downtown Jeffersonville in the 200-500 blocks of Spring Street.
Parade Participants and Ceremony
More than 65 groups are signed up to participate in the parade, including Ethan Almighty, Schimpff’s Confectionary, government officials, and local businesses. The former mayor of Jeffersonville, Dale Orem, will be the parade grand marshal. Once the parade is over, guests can enjoy a ceremony in Warder Park at 109 E. Court Avenue, featuring a performance from Jeffersonville High School Choir, face painting, and refreshments.
To celebrate the 250th, the Clark County Museum will have a special reading of the Declaration of Independence from 76 community members. Guests can sign their name on a jumbo version of the declaration for the holiday as well.
