Consumer Reports recently tested various beach gear to help consumers make informed purchasing decisions. The testing included towels, beach chairs, and umbrellas. For towels, the testing focused on sand-resistance rather than drying ability. A Turkish towel from the brand Ephesus performed well due to its tight weave.
Beach Chairs and Umbrellas
The testing of beach chairs involved assessing their ease of use and comfort over an extended period. The Tommy Bahama wavy marlin deluxe backpack chair was found to be the most comfortable. For umbrellas, the testing evaluated their ability to provide shade and withstand windy conditions. The Tommy Bahama Anchor X umbrella was the top performer, and the Cool Cabana 5 provided a lot of shade but at a higher price point.
